A Bit About Me and Why I Love Being a Therapist

I’m a Minnesotan living in the Austin, Texas area for a couple of decades now. I am mom to two adult humans – I treasure parenthood with its deep joys and intense struggles. I understand the hills and valleys of this experience. Our family adopts animals from local shelters and these furry creatures are our family members.

I often work with people who are accustomed to living their lives through a logical or analytical lens. I can relate! I love it when somebody wants to learn how to FEEL stuff, to pause the distractions, but they don’t know how. Thinking or using logic has been their go-to strategy, maybe for their whole lives. I am a sleuth at navigating this. I love this process and feel honored and lucky to be a part of these wonderfully deep and important conversations.

What’s it like to work with me?

During my free time, I’m outside as much as possible. I love propagating plants. A bit of trivia: In addition to a graduate degree in social work, I have a culinary arts degree. Baking focaccia is my latest obsession, and I plan on perfecting it! I love traveling and learning about global cultures. I have been fortunate to have lived and worked in both Greece and Japan.

I’m a strong ally to BIPOC and LGBTQ people. I help people live better through major life transitions, when dealing with anxiety, and when navigating parenting struggles. When you want to lean into a rich and fulfilling life but feel blocked, I can help you pave the way.
